Everything you need to know about using The Sett

📋 Tasks

Tasks are your to-do list. Type what you need to do in the box and choose a subject from the dropdown — this helps you stay organised when you're studying multiple topics at once.

Tick the checkbox next to a task when you've completed it — it'll be crossed out so you can see your progress at a glance. You can delete a task at any time using the 🗑 button. Everything saves automatically so it'll still be here when you come back.

⏱ Focus Timer

The Focus Timer is based on the Pomodoro technique — a simple method where you study in short focused bursts, then take a short break. Research shows this is one of the most effective ways to learn and retain information.

Set your focus time using the slider, hit ▶ Start, and give your full attention to one task. When the timer ends, a break timer will start automatically. Each completed session is counted at the bottom — even small wins add up! 🍅

📝 Notes

Notes are great for summarising what you've just studied, jotting down ideas, or keeping important information in one place. Give each note a clear title so you can find it easily later.

Click any note to expand it and read the full content. Click it again to collapse it. Use the subject tag to keep your notes organised by topic. Notes save automatically and will always be here when you return.

⚙️ Settings

The Sett is designed to work the way you do. In Settings you can switch between Light, Dark, and High Contrast colour themes — try each one and see which feels most comfortable for your eyes.

The OpenDyslexic font is specially designed to make text easier to read for people with dyslexia. Give it a try — you can switch back at any time. You can also adjust the text size using the four size buttons, and add your own subjects to match exactly what you're studying.

💡 Tips for studying with The Sett

🎯 Start each session by adding your tasks for the day — it helps your brain know what to focus on.

⏱ Even one 25 minute focus session a day makes a real difference over time. Don't worry about doing everything at once.

📝 After a focus session, spend 5 minutes writing a note summarising what you just learned — this is one of the most powerful memory techniques there is.

🌱 Progress isn't always visible day to day, but it's always happening. You're doing brilliantly just by showing up.
